American Dream installation explores the boundaries between perception and reality, where clarity dissolves as perspectives shift. This work began with a question posed to AI: “What is the American Dream?” The response—both text and image—presented an optimistic vision: a suburban scene, white picket fence, and the Statue of Liberty, with joyful figures. Yet, this idyllic image subtly reveals the biases of an algorithmic gaze, reflecting a narrow, idealized version of the dream. From the center, the image appears whole, suggesting a tangible aspiration. But as viewers move to the edges, it distorts, slipping into ambiguity, simulating the fleeting and often deceptive nature of this ideal. Only from above, where common ground emerges, does the image cohere, inviting reflection on our perspectives. This installation blurs the line between reality and myth, prompting viewers to question: How much of this vision is shared, and how much depends on where we stand?
